Immediate or Delayed Statin in Acute Atherosclerotic Ischemia

To the Editor The recently published data from the Intensive Statin and Antiplatelet Therapy for High-Risk Intracranial or Extracranial Atherosclerosis (INSPIRES) trial did not confirm a benefit in favor of early (within 72 hours) intensive statin vs 3-day delayed-intensive statin in terms of stroke reduction within 90 days in Chinese patients with acute mild ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack of presumed atherosclerotic cause.
